Older coconuts which have fallen from palm trees and begun to sprout again (if left on the ground) are known as Navara. The coconut milk dries up to leave a fragrant, slightly milky sweet tasting flesh which is easily broken apart. As well as being a delicious treat they sell at the market for very little (NZ 25 cents).
